Rachel Vin­cent showed up with the bat and Le­an­dra Ramdeen with the ball to guide T&T to an eight-wick­et win in the fi­nal T20 match against Bar­ba­dos, to sweep the two for­mats and over­all se­ries on Wednes­day.

The teams met at the Po­lice Sports Club in Wey­mouth, St Michael in the third 20-over match-up of the tour.

Bar­ba­dos bat­ted first and reached 123/4 in their 20 overs with its main bat­ting con­tri­bu­tions com­ing from Ky­cia Knight with an un­beat­en 40 while twin-sis­ter Kyshona Knight pro­duced 32 and Aaliyah Al­leyne added 24.

Ramdeen played her role well in lim­it­ing the Bar­ba­di­ans, claim­ing 2/17, with right-arm pace bowler Kir­by­i­na Alexan­der giv­ing sup­port with 1/11.

Vin­cent matched the host team’s lead­ing scor­er with 40 not out to pi­lot T&T’s re­sponse. Her ef­fort helped the vis­it­ing team achieve the win­ning tar­get of 127/2 in 16 overs.

Al­so ex­celling with the bat for the win­ner was cap­tain Re­niece Boyce, who post­ed 33 and Makeila Jod­han with 29 runs.

Nai­jan­ni Cum­ber­batch led Bar­ba­dos’ bowl­ing with 2/20 as she and her team try to fine-tune for the Birm­ing­ham Com­mon­wealth Games in Eng­land from Ju­ly 28-Au­gust 8.

The Ba­jans along with T&T were al­so us­ing the se­ries as prepa­ra­tion for the Crick­et West In­dies (CWI) 50-over and T20 Blaze in Guyana in June.

The T&T crick­eters and staff, coach Kelvin Williams, as­sis­tant coach Davin­dra Singh, man­ag­er Mar­jorie Thomas, train­er An­gel Ot­t­ley and tech­ni­cal di­rec­tor Meris­sa Aguillera, a for­mer West In­dies Women cap­tain, ar­rived in Bar­ba­dos last Wednes­day and got down to busi­ness the fol­low­ing day.

The na­tion­al crick­eters won the open­ing T20 at the Ru­bis Sports Club in Spring Gar­den, St Michael by four wick­ets, led by the bowl­ing of Lee Ann Kir­by, who claimed 2-11 in her four overs.

The next day at the same venue, they put on a de­cent bat­ting dis­play to win the first 50-over clash by 44 runs boost­ed by an all-around per­for­mance from Stef­fi So­grim. She top-scored with 36 and picked up im­pres­sive five wick­ets for 36 runs.

The teams got a day’s rest and re­turned to ac­tion on Sun­day in the sec­ond T20 at Iso­la­tion Cav­a­liers Lakes in St An­drew and again T&T dom­i­nat­ed pro­ceed­ings com­ing away with a sev­en-wick­et win. Alexan­der (2/21) and left-arm off-spin­ner Soogrim (2/28) stepped up in that en­counter.

The fol­low­ing day in the sec­ond and fi­nal 50-Over match-up at the North Stars Club, Crab Hill in St Lucy, led by a half-cen­tu­ry (55) and five-wick­et haul (5/13) from Kar­ish­ma Ramharack, the vis­it­ing side eased to an 89-run vic­to­ry.

At the end of play yes­ter­day, T&T swept both for­mats, 3-0 in the T20s and 2-0 in the 50 overs.
