TRINIDAD Y TOBAGO: Whiteman shines at Junior Champs * - EntornoInteligente / Trinidad Express / Jabari Whiteman (Heatwave) dominated the first two nights of the four-day 2017 National Track Championships for Junior cyclists that pedalled off Thursday evening at the National Cycling Centre.

Whiteman claimed the 40-lap event Thursday before taking gold in the 80-lap men’s points race Friday at the Couva venue.

On Thursday, Whiteman timed his race well to defeat Kemp Orosco (Team DPS) and Tyler Cole (Team DPS) in the final sprint after the trio lapped the main bunch three times.

Whiteman, Orosco and Cole were the pre-race favourites and solidified that status within the first five laps when they broke free from the bunch. They repeated that trend two more times before the race could finish, however, the bravest move came from Marcus Boneo (AWCC) who timed his attack with just about 10 laps to go.
