Tallawahs Lose Second Straight CPL Game Despite Gayle Heroics - EntornoInteligente

Despite skipper Chris Gayle recording his 22nd Twenty20 century, the Jamaica Tallawahs went down to the St Kitts and Nevis Patriots by 4 wickets in the Hero Caribbean Premier League on Tuesday evening at warner park. Gayle struck 10 sixes and seven fours on his way to 116 off 62 delivers. He got good support from Chadwick Walton who scored 73 as the two posted a 162 run second wicket partnership to take the Tallawahs to a CPL record score of 241-4. The Tallawahs erased the previous record was 226-4 set by the St Lucia Stars against the Barbados Tridents in 2018. Jamaican Fabian Allen who conceded 17 runs in his first over, ended with 2 for 30 from two overs while Alzzari Joseph claimed 2-39. 

Devon Thomas 71 and Evin Lewis 53, shared an opening stand of 85 while Laurie Evans weighed in with 41 and Fabian Allen an undefeated 37 as the Patriots successfully chased down their target to reach 242-6 in 18.5 overs.

Lewis who made the fastest half century in the history of the CPL, was named Man of the Match. 

Oshane Thomas had 4-53 from his 4 overs while Andre Russell claimed 2-54 from 3.5 overs. The Tallawahs who have now suffered two defeates from as many games, will next be in action against the St Lucia Zouks at Sabina Park on Thursday while the Patriots will meet the Guyana Amazon Warriors on Saturday in Basseterre.
