The King Yen Taekwondo School is back training in the repaired Hillside Christian School Gym. ST. PETERS—The King Yen Taekwondo School is back training in the Hillside Christian School Gym. “I’m so proud of the students,” said Grandmaster Theo Liu head of the King Yen school. “For nearly two years the children endured the most difficult training situations with flooding, leaking roof and even being outdoors.”
Irma heavily damaged the school’s normal training area. Despite sometimes harsh conditions, the St. Maarten team performed well winning many gold medals in international and regional competitions. “We continue to keep St. Maarten on the World taekwondo map by winning many Best International Team Trophies,” said the Grandmaster. “After almost 2 years after hurricane Irma, the Taekwondo School King Yen is back in the renovated gym hall of the Hillside Christian School in St. Peters.” The King Yen School offers both children and adult Taekwondo classes from beginner to black belt.
