Real Madrid Addressed the Bale controversy
W ith the last few days dominated by Zinedine Zidane âs comments regarding the future of Gareth Bale , the Real Madrid coach has clarified the situation and insisted he never disrespected anyone.
Los Blancos were beaten 3-1 by Bayern Munich on Saturday and Bale spent the entirety of the match in the stands, not even making it to the Madrid bench, with Zidane then claiming after the game it would be better if the Welshman left the club.
“Itâs true that sometimes my Spanish causes mischief, but I want to be clear,” Zidane said.
“First, I have not disrespected anyone, especially a player of ours. I always say the same thing. The players are most important and I will always be with my players.
“Second, I said the club were trying to sell the player, nothing more.
“And third, Bale didnât get ready for the game became he didnât want to as the club were trying to sort out his future.
“Now letâs go back to the start. He is a Real Madrid player, nothing has changed.
“He will train normally, and tomorrow is tomorrow so we will see what happens.
“You know the situation and you know what is happening with the club. Gareth is a player in the Real Madrid team.
“Thatâs the most important thing. Iâm not at all uncomfortable working with Bale . I will count on him once more.”
The player who came out of Saturdayâs defeat with his head held his was Takefusa Kubo , whose impact had taken Madrid by storm.
“He [Kubo] knows where he is,” Zidane said. “He isnât afraid to play. He likes to play football.
Rodrygo was another who received plenty of plaudits post Bayern .
“His position is on the right wing,” Zidane went on. “But letâs see.
“The most important thing is to work, and he is doing very well.
“Itâs possible he could play on the right against Arsenal .”
