NGC and bpTT sign new gas supply deal /

A new gas sup­ply con­tract has been signed be­tween the Na­tion­al Gas Com­pa­ny of Trinidad and To­ba­go (NGC) and bp Trinidad and To­ba­go (bpTT).

The sign­ing cer­e­mo­ny for the new gas sup­ply con­tract took place to­day, Fri­day 23 Sep­tem­ber 2022.

Min­is­ter of En­er­gy and En­er­gy In­dus­tries, Stu­art R. Young MP, who was present at the cer­e­mo­ny, con­grat­u­lat­ed both par­ties on «ne­go­ti­at­ing, in a col­lab­o­ra­tive man­ner, a new gas sup­ply con­tract», which he ob­served, «se­cures fu­ture gas sup­ply to … NGC…»

«This gas will be uti­lized for the down­stream petro­chem­i­cal sec­tor and elec­tric­i­ty pro­duc­tion,» the en­er­gy min­is­ter stat­ed in an of­fi­cial re­lease is­sued by the min­istry.

«The Gov­ern­ment of the Re­pub­lic of Trinidad and To­ba­go wel­comes this cru­cial fu­ture sup­ply of gas which is a clear and tan­gi­ble in­di­ca­tor of bp’s con­tin­ued com­mit­ment to Trinidad and To­ba­go,» he not­ed.
