KINGSTON, Jamaica — Miss World 1993 and now Member of Parliament, Lisa Hanna is hailing the crowning of Toni Ann Singh as Miss World 2019. Hanna in an interview with Observer Online just after the Miss World crown was placed on the head of Singh in London earlier today said she was immensely proud of the achievement.
“Congrats Toni Ann, I am proud beyond words, all of Jamaica is proud of Toni Ann and for sure her victory has lifted the mood of the country.
“Toni Ann, Miss World 2019 is a special young lady who is not only confident, talented and intelligent but she also captures the Jamaican spirit which surpasses all understanding.
“I look forward to watching her as she carries the Jamaican flag high as she steps on the world stage being supremely Jamaican and showing the world who we really are as a people not only in terms of beauty but in terms of spirit,” Hanna offered.
Singh is now the fourth Jamaican to win the title following in the footsteps of Carole Joan Crawford in 1963, Cindy Breakspeare in 1976 and Lisa Hanna in 1993.
