PHILIPSBURG–The St. Maarten Police Force KPSM announced on Wednesday that its Detective Department had concluded an investigation into a case of ill-treatment that took place on L.B. Scott Road on September 4.
During this incident a young man on a scooter was slapped by another man after a short discussion. The police, who were at the scene, restrained the suspect M.R. and brought him to the Philipsburg police station for questioning.
The victim appeared at the police station later that day and made an official complaint of ill-treatment.
After hearing Detective Department staff, the Prosecutor’s Office gave R. a fine and he was released.
