JAMAICA: Winners announced for Toyota Dream Car art contest - EntornoInteligente

Entornointeligente.com / Jamaica Gleaner / Maleah Hall and Athalia Clarke of Queen’s Preparatory School in Kingston and Caden Ferguson of Munro College have won first place in their age group categories of the Toyota Jamaica’s Dream Car art competition.

The Toyota Dream Car art contest is a global competition held to encourage and inspire creativity in children. Toyota invites children from around the world to share ideas about the future of mobility by drawing their dream car. Through the competition, children have fun while at the same time learning how vital their dreams are. The competition showcases the dreams of children from around the world because Toyota believes in sharing the imagination and ideas of children and is committed to supporting children’s dreams.

The winners in the Jamaica competition are:

Under-eight category

First-place winner – Maleah Hall (Queen’s Prep)

Second-place winner – Amelia Dennis (Queen’s Prep)

Third-place winner – Leigha McCook (Queen’s Prep)

8-11 years old category

First-place winner – Athalia Clarke (Queen’s Prep)

Second-place winner – Taylor Stewart (Queen’s Prep)

Third-place winner – Sameera Muhammad (Queen’s Prep)

12-15 years old category

First-place winner – Caden Ferguson (Munro College)

Second-place winner – Indira Hendricks (Hampton High School)

Third-place winner – Sheldon Clarke (Munro College)

 

TRAVEL TO JAPAN  

If any of these winners achieve a top place in their category in the global competition, they will be invited to travel to Japan, along with winners from the other countries. During the Japan trip, winners experience Japanese culture and Toyota craftsmanship and attend the Toyota Dream Car Global Awards Ceremony while getting to know their peers from other countries.

With the Japan trip, Toyota has created a unique chance for young people to reach across the language barrier and make friends all over the world through shared experiences.

This is the second year that Toyota Jamaica has hosted the Dream Car Art Contest, however, it is the 11th staging globally. Toyota Jamaica intends to make this an annual contest to continuously encourage Jamaican youth.
