The village of St John’s at the foothills of Mount St Benedict, Tunapuna, has a rich history that is far more substantial than being the place where a Benedictine monk from Brazil, Dom Mayeul De Caigny, established a monastery in 1912.

Once officially noted as the place where the smallest parish in the Roman Catholic Church worldwide was located, St John the Baptist RC Church, St John’s Village has over the years produced a number of persons who have attained great success in several spheres: sport, culture, entertainment, business, fashion, culinary arts, journalism and more.
