Justin Bieber, Taylor Swift and The Weeknd were the big winners at the American Music Awards taking home three awards each. The event which was staged Sunday night, saw Swift extend her lead as the artiste with the most awards in the show’s 47-year history. She now has 32 AMAs, eight more than second place Michael Jackson, while Bieber is in sixth place with 18 awards. Swift won artiste of the year for the sixth time, favourite female artiste—pop/rock for the fifth time and favorite video for the second year in a row. Other winners include Cardi B and Megan thee Stallion, Nicki Minaj, BTS and Lady Gaga. Taraji P. Henson hosted the show, which was broadcast from the Microsoft Theater in Los Angeles.
