Businessman Accused Of Swindling Money From Car Buyer Offered Bail

A businessman who is accused of swindling more than $800,000 from a potential car buyer was offered bail when he appeared in the Kingston and St. Andrew Parish Court on Wednesday.   Jahiem Douglas was offered $400,000 bail following an application by his attorney Shamar Hanson.   Mr. Douglas, who is charged with obtaining money by means of false pretense, is to return to court on June 29.   It’s alleged that the complainant gave Mr. Douglas $830,000 last August to purchase a vehicle.   However, the vehicle was not bought.   It’s alleged that the complainant was reimbursed $430,000 in January.
