Entornointeligente.com / THE EDITOR, Madam:
It seems that Jamaicans ought to take their hats off and applaud Foreign Affairs and Foreign Trade Minister Senator Kamina Johnson Smith for securing 65,000 of the much-needed AstraZeneca vaccines from the Mexican government.
With less than 14,000 doses remaining in the country, this much-needed gift from Mexico couldn’t have come at a more opportune time, especially when we were not scheduled to receive any vaccines before at least August of this year from the Covax facility.
The vaccines have been welcomed with open arms to continue with Jamaica’s vaccination efforts, and I believe that Minister Johnson Smith worked extremely hard and beyond measure in discussions with the Mexican ambassador to secure this deal in less than two weeks.
