Trinidad Express / PRIME Minister Dr Keith Rowley says his Government is reasonable in its decision making and he believes newly-appointed Minister in the Ministry of Public Administration and Communication Marlene McDonald would do a good job.
Rowley said he was of the view that everyone deserves a second chance, even McDonald who was sworn in as a Government Minister for the third time on Thursday.
Her last stint, when she was appointed Minister of Public Utilities, ended in 48 hours. Mc Donald also served as Housing Minister.
Speaking to the media during a tour at Bamboo Village, Cedros on Thursday, Rowley defended his decision to have McDonald returned as a Minister.
“In her last outing there was some lack of judgement and we all deserve to get a second chance,” he said.
Rowley said he was certain that McDonald understood that as prime minister he has to do what was necessary.
He said McDonald was a hard working Member of Parliament and would do her best for her constituency and the nation.
Rowley said he believes she would do a good job in her latest position.
Opposition Leader Kamla Persad-Bissessar has called on the prime minister to explain why he found it necessary to return McDonald as a Minister.
She said Mc Donald was still subject to investigation and the prime minister needed to explain his change of mind.
