Trinidad Express / The National Hockey Centre is set to receive a spanking new artificial turf surface in time for the hosting of the FIH Men’s World Hockey League Round 2, from March 25 to April 2 next year, in Tacarigua. “We are ready to face the new year because in March we host the Men’s World League in Tacarigua, hopefully with a new turf, which the Government has committed to…well, they have no choice now, to put it in between now and March because it has to be certified otherwise we will be fined heavily,” Trinidad and Tobago Hockey Board (TTHB) president Camacho told the Express last week. Camacho said the new surface would offer the Hockey Board the possibility of making use of the old turf for more programmes. “If we get the two turfs, we will try to put the old turf somewhere else where we can particularly utilise it for development and training and so on,” said the former Trinidad and Tobago Olympic Committee president.
