Trinidad Express / TWO MEN were allegedly caught by police stealing from a gas station in Sangre Grande on Sunday.
One man was allegedly caught hiding under a desk in the office while another was held while allegedly attempting to exit the building.
The suspects held were a 21 year old man of Morvant, and a 23 year old man of Sea Lots.
A police report said that at around 3 a.m. the owner and manager of Guaico Gas Station at Eastern Main Road received information that there was a break-in at his business place.
Officers of the Sangre Grande CID were contacted and Cpls Guy and De La Rosa responded.
Police said that the suspect who was attempting to leave the premises was found with a back pack containing a hacksaw blade, two hacksaws, an Allen key set and two pairs of pliers.
The other, police said, was found beneath a desk holding a bag containing a quantity of cigarettes and $1,000.
Both men were arrested and taken to the Sangre Grande station.
They were expected to be charged with the offences of office breaking, and larceny, and be taken before the court this week.
