A 12-YEAR-OLD boy was strangled while playing in a hammock at his Cedros home on Tuesday.
An autopsy found that Adam Frank, of Pasea Road, Granville, died of compression to the neck caused by ligature strangulation.
Police said that at around 5 p.m., Adam was seen playing in a hammock in the kitchen.
The report said that a short while later Adam’s grandmother, Joyce Frank, called out to his father, McAllister Frank.
Police were told that McAllister Frank found his son with the hammock around his neck and unresponsive.
The father took the child to Point Fortin Area Hospital, where he was pronounced dead. An autopsy was performed on Wednesday by Dr Herbert Daisley at the San Fernando mortuary.
Adam was expected to enter Form One at Cedros Secondary School next week. Cedros police are treating the death as accidental.
