MiamiHerald / Selected lots from seven brands of frozen green beans and mixed vegetables distributed to 21 states have been recalled by a Seattle-based manufacturer because they might be contaminated with listeria.
National Frozen Foods’ FDA-posted recall notice says the recalled food from went to in bulk to distributors in Florida, Alaska, Arkansas, Arizona, California, Colorado, Idaho, Illinois, Kansas, Mississippi, Missouri, Montana, North Dakota, Nebraska, New Mexico, Nevada, Oregon, Tennessee, Texas, Virginia, Washington.
Listeria monocytogenes cause listeriosis, a sometimes fatal infection in young children, elderly people and those with weakened immune systems. It can cause miscarriages and stillbirths when pregnant women get infected. Healthy people might have to deal with only diarrhea, nausea, harsh headaches, feverish temperatures, stomach pains and muscle stiffness.
This recall covers Bountiful Harvest Foundations and Bountiful Harvest Originals green beans, lot No. 17100903A02; , Sysco Classic and Sysco Imperial green beans, lot No. 17102703A03; NW Treasure green beans, lot No. 17102603A02; Valamont green beans, lot No. 38474-7H08F3N and 38510-7H11F3N; and The World’s Harvest green beans, lot Nos. 38475-7H08F3N 38475-7H08G3N. Simplot Classic’s Meadow Blend mixed vegatables, lot No. 965AUG081705H; and Monarch’s Capri Blend mixed vegetables, lot Nos. 38511-7H11G3N and 38511-7H11H3N.
