Jamaica Gleaner / A meeting at the Ministry of Justice has failed to settle the dispute over the non-payment of millions of dollars in fees to lawyers representing police personnel facing murder charges arising from the so-called death squad cases.
The cases, which involve about nine policemen, have stalled in the courts as the lawyers insist that they be paid.
Justice Minister Delroy Chuck said the parties did not arrive at a settlement during the meeting on Monday.
