RJR News / The Jamaica Public Service (JPS),will be focusing its attention on businesses in the Corporate Area over the next few days in its attempt to stamp out electricity theft. Following the arrest of business operator on Monday, the light and power company said an operation was carried out on Constant Spring Road where 53 meters were checked and four irregularities identified. In a statement on Tuesday, Senior Vice President for Energy Delivery, Gary Barrow, said Monday’s activities formed part of a renewed campaign to tackle electricity theft. He said the JPS has increased the number of teams and resources assigned to do audits and investigations. More than 300 persons have been arrested for electricity theft since the start of the year.
