RJR News / Finance Minister Dr. Nigel Clarke has signalled his intention to build on the foundation established by his predecessor Audley Shaw. Dr. Clarke was sworn in as Finance Minister on Tuesday. He took over from Mr. Shaw following Prime Minister Andrew Holness’ decision to make changes to his Cabinet. “It’s an honour and a privilege to serve the people of Jamaica in this capacity; to build on the foundation that has been established as we pursue the vision of economic independence within an envelop of shared prosperity,” said the new Finance Minister. Dr. Clarke became Member of Parliament for St. Andrew North Western after winning a by-election in the constituency on March 5. The St. Andrew North Western seat became vacant after the retirement of Derrick Smith.
