RJR News / Former national Under-17 and Under-20 goalkeeper Nico Campbell has been invited to participate in American Club Tampa Bay Rowdies pre-season camp in Florida.
Campbell who captained St George’s College to the Manning Cup title in 2012, is one of 20 trialists who will join the future United Soccer League (USL) team with the likes of former Chelsea and England midfielder Joe Cole.
The 22 year old impressed the Rowdies with his performances for Des Moines Menace in the Premier Development League where he conceded the fewest amount of goals during the regular season while leading the team to a division championship.
Campbell was the starting goalkeeper during Jamaica’s historic appearance at the Under-17 World Cup in 2011.
