Jamaica Gleaner / A 31-year-old British man has been arrested and charged after allegedly attempting to leave the island with cocaine valued at $2 million.
Tracyston Mallory, who is of a London, England address, is charged with breaches of the Dangerous Drugs Act.
He’s charged with possession of cocaine, dealing in cocaine and attempting to export cocaine.
He was held by the police at Sangster International Airport in Montego Bay, St James on Tuesday and is to appear in court tomorrow.
The police say Mallory was at the security checkpoint to board a flight destined to Brussels, Belguim when his luggage was searched and 37 parcels of cocaine weighing 1.18 kilograms were found concealed in a false compartment.
The drug has an estimated street value of two million dollars.
