Humberto Ramirez Urdaneta Marks // Bloomfield Wins NCAA SEC Title - EntornoInteligente

Newly crowned Jamaican indoor 400 meter record holder Akeem Bloomfield is the new NCAA South Eastern Conference (SEC) champion after winning the event on Sunday’s 3rd and final day of competition in Texas, United States on Sunday. Bloomfield running for Auburn University, clocked 45.22 seconds to win his section of the final and the overall event.   Auburn team-mate and countryman Nathon Allen also won the first section of the event clocking  46.07 to finish third overall.

Another jamaican and World Championship 400m hurdles finalist, Kemar Mowatt was 8th overall in 46.74. 

Former national junior representative and Wolmer’s Girls’ standout Janeek Brown took silver in the women’s 60 meter hurdles.

Brown, now in her first year at the University of Kansas in ArkansasM sped to 8.04 seconds to place second in the event.

   Jonielle Smith also formerly of Wolmer’s and now a senior at Auburn Univerity, was 3rd in the women’s 60 meters clocking 7.18, just ahead of teammate and former St Jago Star Natalliah Whyte who was 4th in 7.19.
